Every essential oil is intensely concentrated — a single drop is enough to overwhelm. So every aroma product on earth, from perfume to vanilla extract to inhalers, dilutes those oils into a neutral, food-grade plant base. The base is odourless, tasteless, and stays in the core. What evaporates at room temperature and reaches your nose is the lighter aromatic oils, not the base. So while the base takes up most of the volume, it's not what you actually smell.
